Hemorrhoids are one of the most common health concerns, affecting millions of people worldwide. Despite being so prevalent, many people feel embarrassed to discuss symptoms or seek treatment. The good news is that hemorrhoids are highly treatable, and with the right combination of conventional care and naturopathic support, you can find lasting relief.
At MARM Health, we take a compassionate, integrative approach to hemorrhoid management—addressing both immediate symptom relief and the underlying factors that contribute to their development.
What Are Hemorrhoids?
Hemorrhoids (also called piles) are swollen blood vessels in the rectum and anus, similar to varicose veins in the legs. They develop when increased pressure causes the veins to stretch, swell, and sometimes bulge.
Internal Hemorrhoids
Located inside the rectum. Usually painless but may cause bleeding during bowel movements. Can prolapse (protrude) through the anus in more severe cases.
External Hemorrhoids
Located under the skin around the anus. More likely to cause pain, itching, and discomfort. Can develop blood clots (thrombosed hemorrhoids) causing severe pain.
