Everything you need to know about virtual naturopathic care at MARM
Health
Yes, you must be a resident of Ontario to receive virtual care from
our naturopathic doctors. We are licensed by the College of
Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) and can only provide services to
patients within the province.
You'll need:
A device with internet connection (computer, tablet, or
smartphone)
A webcam and microphone (built-in or external)
A private, quiet space for your appointment
The video call link we'll email you before your appointment
No special software downloads are required — our PHIPA-compliant
video platform works directly in your web browser.
Absolutely! We can order standard bloodwork through provincial labs
(LifeLabs, Dynacare) and send requisitions to a location convenient
for you. We also work with specialty labs for comprehensive testing
when needed. Once your results are available, we'll review them
together during a follow-up appointment and adjust your treatment
plan accordingly.
After your consultation, you'll receive a detailed treatment plan
via email including supplement recommendations and any
prescriptions. Supplements can be ordered from professional
dispensaries that ship directly to your home, or picked up from
health food stores. Prescriptions can be filled at your local
pharmacy or through online compounding pharmacies we work with. We
make it as convenient as possible for you.
Yes! Virtual naturopathic care is just as comprehensive as in-person
visits. We still conduct thorough health history assessments,
discuss your symptoms in detail, review lab results, and create
personalized treatment plans. While we can't perform physical exams
remotely, the vast majority of naturopathic care focuses on
understanding your story, identifying root causes, and supporting
your body's healing capacity — all of which can be done effectively
through video consultations.
Most extended health insurance plans that cover naturopathic
medicine will also cover virtual appointments. Coverage is the same
whether you see us online or in person. After your visit, we'll
provide you with a detailed receipt that you can submit to your
insurance provider. We recommend checking your specific plan's
coverage limits and requirements before booking.
15-Minute Connection Call (Free): Get to know each
other and discuss whether we're the right fit for your health goals.

Yes, absolutely. We use PHIPA-compliant (Personal Health Information
Protection Act) video conferencing platforms that meet Ontario's
strict healthcare privacy standards. All consultations are
encrypted, and your health information is stored securely in our
electronic health records system. Your privacy and confidentiality
are our top priorities.
We understand that life happens! Please provide at least 24 hours
notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. You can
do this through your booking confirmation email or by contacting us
directly. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be
subject to a fee. We appreciate your understanding as this helps us
serve all our patients effectively.
In Ontario, naturopathic doctors have prescribing rights for certain
medications including bioidentical hormones, thyroid hormones,
and some others within our scope of practice. We
focus primarily on natural therapeutics (herbs, supplements,
lifestyle medicine) but can prescribe when clinically appropriate.
We'll discuss all treatment options during your consultation.
